Victory Over Anxiety by Dr. Andrea Ganahl is a great self-help book. I was initially drawn to the book by the title alone. I know many people who deal with anxiety, so I thought the book would be worth reading. Dr. Ganahl demonstrated her expertise on the topic. Still, more importantly, I was pleasantly surprised to see that she also shared from a personal place of vulnerability. Having dealt with anxiety for much of her adult life, I appreciated that she presented the material in an informative and compassionate manner. Anxiety can be debilitating for many individuals, living with anxiety she shared from a first-hand experience of the condition.
One thing, I think, would make the book a better tool is having a table of contents. I like self-help books that include a table of contents to tap specific information when needed.
Overall, I enjoyed reading the book. Dr. Ganahl did a great job sharing stories that helped me understand and even relate to the material discussed.
Suppose you are interested in reading a motivational self-help book on anxiety. In that case, you will want to check out Victory Over Anxiety. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Note: I reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received through Celebrate Lit. I was not required to write a positive review, nor was I compensated for sharing my thoughts. I am disclosing this per FTC regulations.

More from Dr. Andrea
I wrote Victory over Anxiety: Take your Anxious Thoughts Captive, as a path to my own healing. I have struggled with anxiety much of my life. As I researched the most effective techniques to combat my anxiety, and found how beneficial they were, I decided to write this book to help others learn practical tools, so they may also experience victory over anxiety. All the exercises I share are research-based and filtered through a biblical perspective.
Not only will you learn everyday exercises to reduce your anxiety, but you will also begin to understand how and why your anxieties developed and how to rid yourself of those anxieties at their core. In addition, you can apply these principles to any emotional struggles, not just anxiety.
