“Be the Sunshine” shares the real-life journey of someone named Sunshine, dealing with the pressures of having a name associated with constant happiness. As a first-time reader of this author, I found the book to be a sincere exploration of self-acceptance and embracing one’s uniqueness.
Unlike typical self-help books, “Be the Sunshine” doesn’t prescribe happiness or positivity. Instead, it shares personal stories that delve into the author’s life, emphasizing the importance of being true to oneself. The narrative centers on friendship, family, and faith, offering a relatable and encouraging outlook.
The book’s strength is its genuine storytelling that connects with readers through shared experiences. It promotes being true to oneself and enjoying the present moment without feeling the need always to be happy.
“Be the Sunshine” is not a guide but a celebration of love, joy, and the beauty of living authentically. It leaves readers with a sense of upliftment, emphasizing that by being true to ourselves, we naturally radiate positivity to those around us.
I appreciated the Scripture shared in this book. It deepened the self-discovery journey and brought genuine inspiration. I look forward to exploring more from this author and the sincerity she brings to the literary world.
Note: I received a copy of this book from the author and was not required to write a positive review.

The one difficulty with having the name Sunshine is that people expect me to be…. well, sunshine all the time.
I have learned over time to embrace the Sunshine-ness that is my name. Yes, I may not always be joyful or exuberant all the time, but I have learned that if I rely on my friends, my family, and my faith, I can conquer each day head-on and live every moment with an expectation of goodness.
And that’s what I wanted to share in this book, Be The Sunshine. It’s not a book about how to be happy or seven ways to stay positive. These pages are about being yourself, showing the world your true colors, and being mindful of the moment. These chapters contain personal stories so that we all can experience love and joy for ourselves as well as shining that light on those around us!
So, just follow my voice. When it comes to being the sunshine, well, I know the way!
